ALEXANDRE MOREL, Maintenance Technician!

WHAT’S YOUR MAIN TASK?

« To control, monitor and regularly maintain the machinery, as well as to organise and manage the warehouse stock.

My role is to maintain and even improve productivity, quality and conformity of the equipment, and also the safety of the personnel. It's about ensuring optimum production without interruption of the factory. »

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH EUROTAB? IN WHICH POSITIONS?

« I’ve been with Eurotab since May 2022, which is only recently!
I work as a Maintenance Technician at our disinfection site in Saint-Rambert. We’re a team of two on this site, Sokha Ouk and myself.
I've also worked a few times on our other detergent production site, to help and bolster the teams on site and again in maintenance. »

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

« The day always starts with a check-in with the team to find out what has happened during the day (any breakdowns, malfunctions, problems etc.).

Then, I read and deal with my e-mails (orders received, quotes received, etc.) and follow up on the PDCA procedure.

If a line breaks down, I diagnose the problem and repair it as quickly as possible so that production can resume. Small breakdowns are usually managed by the teams.

We also have to manage preventive maintenance, i.e. act to prevent malfunctions by means of regular and planned maintenance according to production. We plan in some preventive maintenance and see if we can carry it out during the day. The same checks are carried out every month. I check the equipment, change defective or old parts and measure the various indicators.

I maintain and upgrade the equipment, helping with improvements. I work in constant liaison with the production teams and with those from the new works as well.

I also manage the warehouse stock. I am in contact with subcontractors to order missing parts.

In short, my days are varied but I would describe them as: planning, action and breakdown if necessary. »

WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION?

« You need to be rigorous, very organised and also very determined: you shouldn't give up at the first hurdle. »

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT EUROTAB?

« I really value the harmony between colleagues. The mutual support and cohesion between everyone. I feel like I'm working 'in a family'. When I work on the machines, I'm never alone. We look for the cause together. There is never a breakdown where you are left alone. And that's why I enjoy coming to work at Eurotab.
I also appreciate the staff, who are highly qualified in their field, and who impress me. They have great potential. For instance, when there's a breakdown, they'll do everything they can to identify the problem and find a solution. »

WHAT DRIVES YOU ON A DAILY BASIS?

« My colleagues! A good atmosphere at work.
And also to make their daily lives better. My driving force is to make sure that my colleagues on the line have a good day, without breakdowns or adjustments to the machines. I strive is to make their lives easier! »

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PRIDE AT WORK?

« I wouldn't say personal pride, but rather collective pride. Our pride, I should say, is the reliability of the machines with good preventive measures.

With the help of those from new works, the machine operators, line operators and supervisors, we have gained in power and we can be proud. »

MORE PERSONALLY: DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES AND/OR ANY SPECIAL INTERESTS?

« I do Street Workout, which is bodyweight exercises anywhere. All you need is your weights and you're ready to go.
I also have a Youtube page with a friend where we post sports videos as well as funny ones.
I have a passion for nature and the forest. Autumn is my favourite season, picking mushrooms and going fishing is what I love! »
