DAILY CLEANING

Because it only takes a few minutes a day, and it's always a time-saver when it comes to weekly cleaning, here's a list of daily tasks to keep your home clean and healthy:

Throughout the house

  • Air all rooms at least once a day for 5 to 10 minutes, even in winter
  • Tidy up as you go along, saving time for the weekly clean-up
  • Vacuum quickly or sweep where necessary
  • Clean your surfaces and upholstery as soon as you get a stain, to prevent it from sticking around and become too difficult to remove during the weekly clean-up
  • Take off your shoes when you come home, to reduce the risk of soiling your interior and bringing in bacteria from outside

Kitchen

  • Wipe down the table, sink, worktop, hob and credenza after every use
  • Wash daily dishes by hand or in the dishwasher
  • Empty garbage cans (frequency to be adjusted according to size of garbage can and household composition)

Bedrooms

  • Pat and shake pillows and comforter
  • Leave bed unmade while airing out your room
  • Pay particular attention to humidity in your bedroom, which encourages the development of bacteria and dust mites

Sanitary

  • Rinse shower tray/tub and walls after each use
  • Squeegee glass walls to prevent clogging and the formation of hard-to-remove limescale droplets

weekly cleaning

Now it's time to get serious! An opportunity to devote more time to less regular but necessary tasks.

Throughout the house

  • Dust furniture, shelves, frames and knick-knacks
  • Clean mirrors and other glass surfaces
  • Vacuum all rooms, paying particular attention to carpets, rugs and upholstery
  • Wash floors, disinfect only if necessary

Kitchen

  • Clean kitchen surfaces: worktops, hobs, credenzas and furniture tops
  • Clean handles on cupboards, drawers and appliances, especially the refrigerator handle
  • Clean surfaces of small electrical appliances: kettle, coffee maker, multi-function food processor, etc.
  • Change tea towels

Bedrooms

  • Change all bed linen

Sanitary

  • Clean washbasin, shower and/or bathtub, mirrors and taps
  • Don't forget the drain in your bathtub or shower tray to ensure proper drainage, and unclog if necessary with a suitable product
  • Change towels and bath mats
  • Descale and disinfect toilets

MONTHLY CLEANING

This is a more thorough type of cleaning. Carried out once a month on average, it will keep your home a pleasant place to live.

Throughout the house

  • Wash windows
  • Clean cupboard doors and handles, as well as light switches
  • Dust light bulbs, chandeliers, skirting boards, ventilation grilles and VMC hatches
  • Vacuum sofa, under cushions and in hard-to-reach corners
  • Vacuum/dust inside wardrobes and walk-in closets
  • Wash and disinfect dustbins
  • Empty bagless vacuum cleaner or change vacuum cleaner bag

Kitchen

  • Clean inside microwave and oven
  • Clean refrigerator, shelves and drawers
  • Clean and degrease dishwasher, check regenerating salt and rinse aid levels, and refill if necessary

SANITARY

  • Thoroughly clean bathroom, bathtub/shower tray, taps, etc.
  • Wash shower curtain
  • Clean the washing machine with an empty cycle and a suitable product if necessary

once or twice a year

Well-known as "spring cleaning", it's important to give your home a thorough once-over once or twice a year.

Throughout the house

  • Deep clean carpets
  • Clean vacuum cleaner brushes, change filters

Kitchen

  • Clean inside cupboards
  • Defrost and disinfect your refrigerator

Bedrooms

  • Wash or dry-clean pillows, blankets and comforters
  • Vacuum mattresses, turning them over if necessary

Sanitary
