Gaëlle François, Sales Development Manager for North America! 

WHAT’S YOUR MAIN TASK?

« Presenting and selling our cleaning products in tablet format, supporting our customers and prospects in the transition to the solid format.

I manage a portfolio of customers but primarily the development of my geographical area: North America. This may involve expansion with our current customers or outright development with new customers.

I am the voice of the customer, I am in constant contact with the support services which will provide me with the technical information I need to respond to the customer. » 


HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH EUROTAB? IN WHICH POSITIONS?

« I have been with Eurotab for 7 years. I started as a sales trainee in 2015, with a pretty full on schedule: 3 days at school and 2 days in the company for 6 months and then full time in the company for 6 months. Over this period I was given the opportunity to work in several geographical areas with my colleagues, including North America. 

As soon as I graduated in 2017, Eurotab suggested that I pursue the adventure by taking responsibility for the Spain and Portugal areas, and I left for Spain the day after my exams! 

My customer portfolio also included ecological products sold in specialised channels.  In November 2021, Eurotab entrusted me with the task of managing the North American area and I got to go to Montreal, which is where I currently live, as part of an international internship programme. I was really eager to gain professional experience abroad, it was one of my goals. »

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

« As I'm in Canada, I have to take into account the time difference with Eurotab's headquarters in France. By the time I start my day, there's already half a day gone in France. Plus in North America we have 3 time zones. It involves a lot of juggling! 

My days are driven by the demands of our customers and prospects, which can be quite varied. In my day-to-day work, I work on offers: product, formula, packaging and price so as to provide them with the best solution for their brand and their target consumer.

When it comes to very technical or regulatory issues, I pass them on to our support services.  With a view to developing the customer portfolio, I am responsible for approaching brands in the home cleaning sector to introduce them to our products and also to respond to calls for tender. I am also responsible for monthly reporting, analysing the figures and my actions from the previous month. Then there’s is the revision of the sales forecasts based on the needs of the customers, which helps the company to organise its supplies, planning and staffing for production, right up to the cash flow forecast. » 


WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION? 

« Organisation, for sure! Listening is one of the most important qualities for this job, as you have to listen to the customers and their needs. You also need good coordination skills with the people you work with and the information you convey. Lastly, it's important to be open-minded and adaptable to the cultural diversity of our customers. » 


WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT EUROTAB?

« First of all, the product: the technology, having a very concentrated and effective product with so many advantages! Prior to joining Eurotab, I knew how to use dishwasher tablets, but I didn't realise the complexity behind the product. I do appreciate discovering all about this! It's not just a simple product, here at Eurotab we have the expertise to make it. I also value the human scale of the company. »

WHAT DRIVES YOU ON A DAILY BASIS?

« What drives me is to make the things I've worked on happen. I like my investment to be rewarded with results. » 


WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PRIDE AT WORK?

« When I was managing the Spain-Portugal area, I spent several years working on the contract for a leading customer in its sector in Spain. When we managed to succeed, I was so proud to see that my efforts had paid off and that I had been involved in making the project a success. What's more, it gives me great satisfaction to see that the projects with these customers endure over time! » 

MORE PERSONALLY: DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES AND/OR ANY SPECIAL INTERESTS?

« I love following brands on social networks and discovering new products, it makes me curious, I get carried away with it. I also like shopping. Otherwise, I have quite a hyperactive temperament, I'm always on the move, and I do try to do sport regularly. Another of my strong points is my good memory, I can remember a lot of things! »
