EcoVadis, CSR performance assessment and responsible purchasing

EcoVadis is a platform for evaluating CSR and responsible purchasing performance. It covers the main CSR themes, assigns a score and an action plan to follow.
It was created in France in 2007 and has just over 75,000 members worldwide.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

The questionnaire is divided into 4 CSR themes:

  • Environment
  • Social & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Responsible Purchasing

+ a dedicated carbon impact assessment sheet.

This assessment is requested by our customers. In the last one in April 2023, we scored 70/100. Eurotab is in the 94th percentile, which means that our score is equal to or higher than 94% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.

Below are some of the main points noted during the assessment:

  • Environmental policy
  • Purchasing charter
  • Waste sorting, recycling and reduction
  • Employee training and awareness of SHE and energy savings
  • Safety, environmental and consumer safety risk assessment
  • Social climate survey

Points of improvement are expected, particularly on the formalisation of actions by Eurotab. Consequently, we have a CSR working group which enable us to record the various actions carried out by Eurotab, to monitor them and carry out in-depth analyses.

BRC, VOUCHING FOR THE SAFETY FOR OUR CONSUMERS AND THE QUALITY OF OUR PRODUCTION.

Eurotab has had the BRC certification for its disinfection activity on the Saint Rambert site since 2015.

The BRC certification is a way for companies to prove the safety and quality of their products to consumers by being evaluated using an international standard.

This certification was developed by the British trade association BRC in conjunction with major trading companies.

The rating is based on grades: from A to D, and more recently the AA grade which is a fifth level of quality.

As a result, Eurotab was awarded the A grade in 2022.

OUR ISO9001, ISO14001 AND ISO45001 CERTIFICATIONS

In 2022, Eurotab was audited for the renewal of our ISO 9001-14001-45001 certifications.

We are certified until January 2025 but have monitoring audits in 2023 and 2024.

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001 standard concerns the Quality management system and is aimed at customer satisfaction. This is verified by means of internal audits.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 concerns Environmental management. It shows the commitment to listening to the parties involved and the ability to address environmental issues related to the company’s activities, products and services in order to take action to preserve the environment.

ISO 45001

Finally, ISO 45001 concerns the Health and Safety management of the employees in their place of work. It aims to reduce the risks in the place of work and create safer working conditions.

THE RESULT IS VERY SATISFACTORY

Below are some of the key points observed during the last audit:

  • Link between risk feedback and the DUERP (single occupational risk assessment document)
  • CSR ambition
  • Social barometer carried out every 3 years
  • Documentation interface
  • PDCA system within the action plan
  • Environmental “signage”

THE SMETA AUDIT, MORE ETHICALLY ORIENTED

The SMETA audit is the most widely used social audit in the world and is mainly requested by English-speaking customers. The company has an internal audit every 3 years on a CSR framework. This audit can be either semi-announced (e.g. announcement of the month of the audit but no indication of the day) or not announced.

The last one took place in October 2022 and there should be another one within 3 years.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The SMETA method uses the ETI code and local legislation as a measurement tool.

It consists of four modules:

  • Health and safety
  • Labour standards
  • Environment (optional)
  • Business ethics (optional)

THE VARIOUS AUDITS PERFORMED ALLOW US TO ENSURE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION !

« The various audits performed at Eurotab allow us to ensure customer satisfaction and access to new markets. They also encourage the adoption of best practices based on performance as well as the commitment and involvement of the teams around a common project. This implies constant reassessment of our organisation and is totally coherent with Eurotab’s continuous improvement approach », says Emilienne Carrere, our Q-SHE manager
